Start your Will
How it works

From first login to a complete estate plan — what happens and when.

We’ve broken the process into five stages. Most people complete the first three in a single session.

01

Answer guided questions

A seven-step questionnaire covers the essentials: your assets, your beneficiaries, your executor, and any guardianship arrangements. No legal training required — every question comes with a plain-English explanation.

02

Review your draft

Your answers are turned into a structured Will draft. Review it clause by clause. If anything looks wrong, change your answers and the draft updates immediately.

03

Solicitor reviews the document

A qualified Australian solicitor reviews your draft for legal completeness and state-specific compliance. High-severity flags — guardianship, trusts, business succession — are reviewed before your Will is finalised.

04

Sign and witness

Your Will is only valid once signed in the presence of two independent witnesses. We walk you through exactly what this requires in your state — and offer remote witnessed signing for eligible members.

05

Store and update

Your signed Will lives in your Vault alongside your asset register and executor access instructions. Every time your life changes, you can update your Will from the same place.

A note on state-specific requirements

Australian succession law is largely state-based. NSW and VIC have different rules around execution, witnessing, and revocation. Heirloom accounts for your state of residence throughout the drafting and review process. If you move states after signing, your Will remains valid but we’ll prompt you to confirm compliance under the new jurisdiction before your next update.

Specific turnaround times for solicitor review are being confirmed before launch — we’re building to operational commitments, not estimates.
